-----------------------------------------------------

Canvassing, Analyzing and Sharing Information

We are always interested in learning about and from decisions made, implemented or evaluated in your area. We do all we can to verify the accuracy of the information that comes to us. We then assign expert teams to analyze the data using a variety of scientific techniques and produce reports in various formats, which we happily share extensively. If you have or would like to discuss your information with us, or would like to have or discuss any of our products, please get in touch. Click here, to contact us now.

-----------------------------------------------------

Providing Training and Advice

We provide training on a range of legal and related issues, incorporating new approaches and research findings in introductory and advance courses delivered on and off EITD Research premises, using readily available technologies and open or distance learning methodologies to increase reach where necessary. We also provide advice on the legal issues inherent or related to entrepreneurial, industrial and technological development. If you are interested in the training or advice we give, or would like to discuss your specific needs, please contact us now.

-----------------------------------------------------

Justice and Law Clinics

EITD Research Justice and Law Clinics bring together various public policy stakeholders to hear case testimonies of citizen encounters with law and its practice or lack thereof, and help to seek justice for all involved by providing or orienting people towards expert analyses and representation, exposing and tackling issues. Holding on or off EITD Research premises, the Justice and Law Clinics allow people from all walks of life to reflect on legal representation or lack thereof experiences, and the meaning of public interests in various pieces of law.

-----------------------------------------------------

Tracking and Evaluating Judiciary Services

Of particular relevance to the work of our RJJR Programme, are services such as those of investigating (police or gendarmerie) officers, sheriff bailiffs, state counsels, court registries and courts in your area - what they do there, how they operate, whether you or people you know approve or not, etc. If you have or come across information or stories on these, we would urge you to share it with us. Click here, to contact us now.

-----------------------------------------------------

Undertaking Public Interest Litigation

We are prepared to introduce litigation in various courts of law to protect public interests, given the many obstacles that people face in accessing and seeing matters through the judiciary. The executive power of our government has been doing so to some extent (as in 'operation epérvier' for example), but at a scale and pace that is far from matching the gravity and urgency of the issues confronting people in Cameroon. We have also been developing our public interest litigation capacities and will be building on the rich experiences gained from our test case with the National Water Distribution Corporation (Camerounais Des Eaux) before the courts in Kumba. If you are unable to follow-up a serious violation of your right or are aware of some public interests to be protected and would like to secure it or want us to consider introducing litigation in a court or law, perhaps in your area, then please, contact us now.

-----------------------------------------------------

Mobilizing Public Opinion and Engaging Policy Processes

We are involved in organizing and attending a variety of meetings, and readily participate in other engagements which increase our familiarity with the various opinions and perspectives of people on the range of policy issues that animate public life. The meetings include encounters in schools, villages or quarters and communities or towns, with individuals or groups and organizations, both public and private, including Parliament and various administrative offices. The interactions enable us to observe, analyze or compare views and input demonstrations of public affairs or interests and the impacts they have on Constitutionally guaranteed rights of individuals and groups. If you are organizing a meeting or would like to collaborate with us to organize an occasion, or you know of an event you would want us to consider attending, or you would like to exchange views with us, please get in touch. Click here, to contact us now.

-----------------------------------------------------

Holding State Power to Account

We are seeking, testing and developing innovative ways of reducing or eliminating secrecy, and increasing analytical capacity and involvement of people, acceptance of their complaints or petitions and swift and effective responses to them, in public affairs through engagements with all state powers. When state power does these things well, then the people whose state it is, have good control over it and so, live up to the mandate of their Constitution. Let us know the efforts you are making or the obstacles you face in your dealings with state power. Please, contact us now.
